So, Mr. Cantrell, I have now seen the entire series of avatar. Overall, totally worth it. My biggest problem with the series may be that I am a bit too logical, maybe? Like the drill for instance. Fuck the struts, attack the goddamn steam. The amount of pressure required to move something that big could blow the whole contraption sky high, and its way more vulnerable then a 6-foot wide I-beam. You could stopped the thing in like 1 minute 10 seconds. But, it was really good and fun. Then there was the play. I will say I wish there was more denouement. Then again, it may have been to adult as Aang as one last duty....

To whom it may concern, which amounts basically, maybe to Sara since Seth knows, the Squeak is in town until sometime after Thanksgiving, so if your in town ever, you may want to give him a call.
Also, Seth, me and Squeak were talking about doing something not the weekend starting tomorrow, but the weekend after that if you have any way to do something then. Let me know, and what's Victor's number. We may give him a call. |

So I have a confession to make... I have quit watching this season of Heroes. I was so excited after the first season, because it was so much fun, but last season was lackluster and this season (what I've watched) has been crap. I won't go into details, but I think I have said enough.
In other news, I think I might have found another author (at this point it should be noted that four beers were drunk before finishing this sentence) that I am really enjoying. I have gotten picky lately. When I was in high school, I would read about anything. Now I find i find an author I know I like and just read everything they have ever written. I am getting into my second book by Neal Stephenson, The Diamond Age or, A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer, and so far its really good. I have previously read Snow Crash by him and that was good. Looks like I'll keep going till I find a stinker.
In leaving I'll leave you with the song lyrics that have been running through my head. And I'll buy a cookie for the person who can guess the character the lyrics refer to. AND NO GOOGLE SEARCHES OR OTHER INTERNET HELP. I know how you guys operate. And Dan, you aren't allowed to answer, 'cause I let you listen to it. And no one can talk to Dan about the answer. Here goes:
*start music* There was another who came before you He was a hero and your brother and my son. He fought the darkness, the darkness won.
And he fought bravely, and he died bravely But he was forsaken by the ones he wished to save. And when he died he died in vain. *end music*
I'll give one hint by saying it is from the first act of a rock opera. And no, I really don't expect anyone to get it or even really try. Though I will buy you a cookie if you do.
Maybe a big one from the mall if you ask nice. |

| Trip |
[Sep. 15th, 2008|10:33 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | drained | ] | Okay first off I'm on another trip. This time to Florida for the next few weeks. Now comes the rant, skip this section if you don't want to hear it.
This is the last time I do not come up with the directions myself. Guy running the project said that he had it, but it turned out he didn't. This whole driving excursion begins with me saying we need to go one direction (Mind you, I have made this trip before and he hadn't) and he immediately says no and goes in the opposite direction. Once I sort out that he completely misunderstood the route we were told was fastest, I work out an alternate route (when he essentially says "I'm getting off here, figure it out") we end up smack dab in the middle of a Buccaneers game letting out and all the traffic that entails. Once we were through that, I thought that it was over. As it turns out, he didn't bother to label the directions so we went to a hotel he had considered but had decided against. Luckily, the hotel we are staying at is much easier to find. Oh and did I mention that the whole time I had to coordinate with the other vehicle that was following us while we went on our misadventure (I have to wonder what they think about my map skills).
Okay, I have that off my chest. Well, Jake's wedding went off without a hitch. The ceremony was basic, the pictures were a pain, and David Phillips is still into chicks that aren't yet 18 (long story). I am trying yo run down pictures of some of the highlights like square dancing and me dancing in the hog trough. As I am incompetent when it comes to those things, expect to see them on Tom's journal, as I will forward them to him and make him figure it out. Over all, the weekend was a blast.
In other news, my nephew Jack can now burble happily, in addition to crying. I see this as a huge step forward. I'll see if I can't scrounge some pictures up of him, too. He still kinda looks like a space alien though, but all infants do.
Right, I need to go to bed as I have to be up far to early tomorrow morning. |

I am now the proud uncle of Jack Burton Foster. Born at 5:45 PM, 21", and 7lb 6oz. This boy looks to have a long life on one-liners. But only the very best one-liners. It's like Jack Burton always says..... |

| This week's Dr Who |
[Jun. 19th, 2008|05:46 pm] |

No spoilers. This is absolutely random, as I should have posted this much earlier this week, but I would just like to say that this weeks Dr. Who was, I think, the scariest I've seen. In my mind, Blink doesn't hold a candle to Midnight. |

So, um, first look at this.
Now, that picture that is "Al-Qaeda's terrifying vision of a devastated America in the wake of a nuclear attack" can be found originally here.
Do you think they did any research on that image before they slapped it up? |

| Weddings |
[Apr. 14th, 2008|11:55 pm] |
Please, if any one else is going to spring a wedding on me, please do it now. I am up to 4 (maybe 5) weddings this year, and 3 of those are rural Ohio weddings that Aunt Angie will hunt me down if I don't attend. Of course, that also means the whole ceremony plus reception is about a 6 hour ordeal. Damn, I still need to ask Aunt Joyce for square dancing lessons, so I don't look like a retard when that starts at the receptions. Or so I do, if you want to look at it that way. But please, if you are getting married this year please tell me now, or put it off to next year.
Oh a funny thing, all of the rural Ohio weddings are for daughters of the same uncle. Hopefully his other 3 (or is it 4?) daughters will space them out a bit more. |

[Feb. 8th, 2008|05:01 pm] |
So I'm stealing this one 'cause it sound like fun.
Rules are simple. I write quotes off IMDB from some of my favorite movies and everyone else gets to try and guess them with no help. That includes any and all internet sites. No IMDB, no Google, no Facebook so you can see what I list as my favorite movies. Good luck and don't be an ass and cheat.
( Let the games begin )
I may give hints if you can't figure them out. |

| Post-action status report |
[Jan. 4th, 2008|06:07 pm] |
Well, the holiday's are over. Back to the daily grind. But it was good and fun. I don't think I really spoke to many of of you after Christmas, so here is what I did. If you don't care, feel free to skip the next paragraph. I won't blame you. Much.
Standard Christmas, but i got a bunch of things I wanted and a few I wasn't expecting but really like, which are my favorite presents. I got a new knife which I had been admiring and a new coat that I like. The biggest hit for Christmas was probably Planet Earth in HD for my parents, which is jaw dropping sometimes. Other than that I just goofed off over the Holiday's with much Rock Band (as it turns out, I'm usually the singer) and *certain* people not returning my phone calls.
Well, that's it. If anybody is going to be around and wants to do anything, I don't have anything planned for awhile.
Also Mark showed me something which I thought I should share. Maybe you've seen it, but I'm thinking about going for PhD in Theoretical Asskicking or Improvised Explosives. Seems interesting to me. Charles, pay particular attention to In Television section. Well, here it is.

Give me call if you get bored.
You know its funny. I was about to hit the post button and then I got a phone call that I am tempted to write about, but I don't think I will right now. Consider this a teaser in the most honest sense, as you have no idea what it's about, but I'll let you know most likely, and probably not any later than next October or November, if that's any clue, and this is a run on sentence. |

| New Year's Eve |
[Dec. 26th, 2007|09:59 pm] |
As circumstances have dictated, I am now apparently throwing a New Year's Eve party, of sorts. After some friends complaining about wanting to have a reason to opt out of other Christmas parties they were invited to and a few other option falling through, some friends and I will be getting together at my parents house. It's mostly going to be my old high school friends (Andy, David, John, Travis Tucker) and a few college friends. I suspect there will be a great deal of Rock Band going on, but nothing is really planned though. Just goofing off and probably a little alcohol.
If you want to come your all welcome to attend, but don't feel obligated. Heck, if you remember Tucker that well, that alone may be enough to make you steer well clear (an old story about feline pornography and Mr. Pogue springs to mind). Anyway, come if you want and call me if you have any questions. |

| Christmas shopping |
[Dec. 17th, 2007|06:05 pm] |
To whom it may concern:
I think I will be braving the crowds Thursday and/or Friday morning when the stores open for some last minute Christmas shopping. If anyone will be in town and would care to join me, they are certainly welcome to. I hope to be done no later than 2 or 3 and will go both days if necessary to finish it all. If you want to come, just drop me a line. |

| Warning! Warning! Squeak Incoming! Prepare Countermeasures. |
[Nov. 28th, 2007|02:40 pm] |
|
To whom it may concern, the Squeak should be arriving in town this coming weekend. I think he is going to be around about a month (at least through Christmas)), but I'm not sure. When I find out more, I will try and let everyone know. If I forget though, give me a call, and I'll let you know what I know. |

| Christmas list |
[Nov. 14th, 2007|10:59 pm] |
Well, i asked what everyone else wanted for Christmas and then failed to put my own list up here. Here is what i can think of right now:
A new calender, must be at least as awesome as my current one (Demotivators)
A companion cube, as I get lonely sometimes
Awesome movies I don't currently own
I always accept cool T-shirts, though I have less chance to wear them than I once did. (got all respectable, you see)
Some Highball glasses
Those are what I can think of off the top of my head. I will continue to update you as the situation changes. |

| Time for another edition of posts only Seth and Charlie will probably care about... |
[Nov. 4th, 2007|12:47 pm] |
So, I have fallen to a new level. Me and a friend went out and got copies of Eye of Judgment. I spent all yesterday in epic card battles. The game yells out the card names when we play our cards.
And I'm really enjoying it....
I feel kinda dirty somehow....
On a spiritual level, I think.....
So the next time somebody is in town who has the time and would be interested, the epic card battles will commence. You need to get into town anyway, Seth, as I owe you a weekend of Halo 3. |
